Job Summary: -
The Maintenance HVAC Technician -role is a -skilled labor position that requires a high level of technical proficiency in the maintenance, repair, replacement, and installation of heating, air conditioning, refrigeration equipment, and controls and distribution systems. The qualified individual should also be certified in high-pressure boilers and be familiar with their operation.

Job Duties:

• Report food safety and quality problems to personnel with the authority to initiate action
• Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and replace equipment and components involving heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, boilers, and air compressors systems.
• Conduct daily boiler water treatment testing.
• Conduct daily checks of process and building HVAC equipment, which includes; chillers, boilers, air compressors and air handlers etc.
• Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance on all HVAC equipment.
• Offer recommendations towards the improvement of existing equipment and supplies.
• Complete assigned work in an acceptable and productive period.
• Keep work area clean at all times.
• Communicate equipment breakdown status to shift supervisor/managers.
• Perform work in a safe, clean, thorough, and professional manner.
• Assess situations and develop solutions and estimated periods to satisfy work requests.
• Research and comprise parts lists necessary to satisfy work requests.
  Qualifications:
  
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 5+ years of experience working with complex HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, package units, direct digital, pneumatic / automated control systems, heavy rigging, pipe and steel fabrication is a plus.
  • Ability to use simple math; adding, subtracting, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to take measurements and troubleshoot problems without supervision.
  • Must possess current EPA license to evacuate and charge refrigerant systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, diagrams and follow instructions.
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot mechanical equipment and machinery.
