  Job Purpose:
  
  Day-cab driver to operate a commercial vehicle to transport wheelsets to and from company and customer properties. Requires a valid Commercial Class A Drivers License.
  
  Key Job Elements:
  
  • Driving mainly flatbed
    
  • Securing freight to flatbed trailer with chains. No tarping required
    
  • Reading maps and planning trips
    
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on equipment
    
  • Completing driver's paperwork (logs, trip reports, DVIR's etc.)
    
  • Scheduling maintenance of equipment with the shop.
    
  • Ability to climb onto trailer
    
  • Operate OTR equipment safely
    
  • Bind and secure loads.
    Education/Training:
    
    • Class A CDL license required
      Qualifications & Experience:
      
      • Must have at least 2 years of recent verifiable tractor trailer experience (flatbed preferred)
        
      • Compliance with state and federal DOT rules and regulations
        
      • Engaging personality with a stable work history
        
      • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and customers
        
      • Attention to detail with driver's paperwork
        
      • Be able to climb onto and down from the trailer
        
      • Possess sufficient strength to tie down a load properly.
