Job Description:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily activities of manufacturing operations to maximize scheduling and real-time utilization of resources; analyzes and recommends part-time, flexible and full-time employee mix for the department.
  • Enacts contingency plans as needed; escalates and directs activities during systems problems, disasters, etc.; identifies potential problems, troubleshoots, escalates issues to local and network management, and participates in post-mortem analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements
  • Reviews ongoing performance results to targets while taking corrective measures with authorization; escalate as needed
  • Participates in daily, weekly, monthly and annual planning process as appropriate
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster aid promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain process work instructions
  • Maintain and improve testing and inspection procedures; monitor, analyze and interpret measured data
  • Serve as a technical resource for completion of RGA evaluation, problem solving, RCCA investigation and formulation of effective Containment and Corrective Actions to support ongoing Customer Quality inquiries and audits
  • Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities, including the development and/or improvement of quality plans (control plans), product and process audits, Manufacturing process planning and support, and process monitoring to ensure that rigorous requirement integrity is maintained through the Product Value Stream
  • Establish and measure quality from both internal and external customer perspectives, including cost of poor quality
  • Isolate potential safety hazards
  • Investigate accidents and injuries related to product and issue recalls if necessary.
  • Construct precautionary instructions on label
  • Oversee manufacturing process of product
  • Analyze chemical features to ensure safety and optimal quality/yield levels
  • Develop and conduct testing methods
  • Develop safety procedures when handling product
  • Anticipate, recognize, and evaluate safety hazards
  • Determine regulatory/certification/compliance issues and/or identify foreseeable misuses.
  • Review and approve or modify changes to products and/or process
  • Implement and operate process improvements within the Quality and Safety System

    Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

    • Ability to acquire and analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods to facilitate process analysis and improvements
    • Ability to develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting and problem solving
    • Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent degree and experience
    • Fundamental understanding of quality and Safety systems and their development, documentation and implementation with respect to domestic and international standards or requirements
    • Statistical Process Control (SPC)
    • Six Sigma experience preferred
    • Experience with ISO implementation and maintenance
    • Basic knowledge of reliability, maintainability and risk management, including memos, quality reports, technical documents and evaluations
    • Understanding of the audit process including supplier, product, process, internal and external auditing, planning and preparation on such audits, reporting results and follow up on audit issues
    • Must be able to work in the US
