Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A registered nurse with expertise in operating room care is needed for a contract position in Naperville, IL. This role is based at a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital known for its comprehensive acute care services. The position offers a structured schedule with a focus on surgical specialties, providing an excellent opportunity for nurses who thrive in high-intensity, dynamic settings. Schedule: Five 8-hour shifts per week (10:00 AM 6:30 PM) One 12-hour weekend call shift per month (7:00 AM 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM 7:00 AM) Every other weekend worked (approximately 2 weekends per month) No weekday call duties Key Responsibilities: Provide expert perioperative nursing care with strong skills in scrub and circulate techniques Support surgical teams in Level 1 trauma, orthopedic, vascular, urology, and general surgery cases Float across specialties as needed within scope and facility guidelines to ensure operational efficiency Document patient care accurately using electronic charting (Cerner system) Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including mandatory floating and reporting requirements Qualifications and Experience: Current RN license with a minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience in the operating room Level 1 Trauma experience strongly required Proficient in orthopedic trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgery nursing Preferred experience in neurosurgery, open heart/thoracic, ophthalmology, ENT, bariatrics, or gynecology BLS certification required Locals within 75 miles preferred; pending licenses are not accepted Location Insight:Naperville, IL combines a vibrant suburban community with easy access to metropolitan healthcare facilities.
