We have immediate openings, call 888-444-0454.This role will work with our clients in Skokie, IL and surrounding areas.Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Responsibilities: Plan, coordinate, and manage all volunteer program activities in the organization.

• Develop and run the Hospice Volunteer program under the guidelines of Hospice regulations
• Recruit, educate, and select volunteers
• Determine a need for volunteer services with the patient and family/caregiver and entire Hospice team
• Develop a volunteer orientation/documented checklist program
• Supervise and evaluate volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner
• Maintain monthly statistics
• Work with Human Resources on maintaining volunteer personnel files
• Reevaluate volunteer program as necessary
• Coordinate support/education meetings
• Attends interdisciplinary group meetings to update on patient status
• Provide information to individuals and community groups about Hospice volunteer services
• All other duties assigned by supervisorHospice Volunteer Coordinator Qualifications:
  • College degree preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in health care setting
  • Hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred
  • Competence and proficiency in understanding the Hospice Volunteer program
  • Understands the Hospice philosophy
  • Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services
  • Ability to organize and develop volunteer Hospice personnel for both patient and organizational needs
  • Ability to manage a group of individuals providing volunteer time and who will be considered employees
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good team building skills
