make a difference! Position Overview This leadership role will
encompass the development, evaluation, and coordination of
implementation of information technology initiatives that support
the overall mission and objectives of Presbyterian Homes. With
input from the leadership team, the VPIT will participate in
policy- and decision-making for resource allocation and future
direction and control of proposed IS and communication systems
projects. Essential Functions
- Establishes and updates annual and five-year strategic and
tactical plans for Information Technology functions for
Presbyterian Homes
- Provides oversight and governance and secures resources to
implement the long-range I.T. plan
- Leads user application support and application rollout process
throughout the application lifecycle: from requirements gathering
to the RFP process and implementation and ongoing
support/maintenance, this position will collaborate with the
operations team to determine appropriate application mix for the
organization
- Responsible for the continuous management of information
security policies, procedures, and technical systems in order to
maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all
organizational information systems
- Quickly establishes an understanding of user perspectives, and
help maintain high levels of resident and staff satisfaction with
technology use
- As it relates to IT and HIPAA, oversees all aspects of risk
management, security policies, and IT infrastructure
- Assesses system needs to meet needs in terms of privacy,
security, contingency and backups, general protection of data and
computer resources, and continuous access and availability of
services
- Meets regularly with the management team to report on projects
and priorities of the department in support of objectives and
mission of Presbyterian Homes. Maintains the established
resident-centered environment and strong user perspective
- Manages annual operating and capital budgets to ensure that the
I.T. department has the resources needed to meet expectations of
users and residents
- Collaborates with the management team to continue to support
and enhance delivery of reliable and secure computer, network and
internet services to staff and residents
- Manages operations, systems support and budget, including the
hiring/dismissal of employees and overseeing daily work routines
and services
- Establishes and revises I.T. policies and procedures as needed
for the organization, the department, and system users. Ensures
policies are current, reflect operational and regulatory needs, and
support a stable technical environment Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with a concentration in Information Technology
required. Masters in Business Administration is a plus.
- At least ten years of experience in progressive information
technology leadership roles within multi-site healthcare systems
with a preference for those which include Continuing Care
Retirement Communities (CCRCs).
- Experience in supporting and/or developing user applications is
required; understanding user application procurement (RPF),
deployment and ongoing support and maintenance is also required
these applications include, but are not limited to: financial,
healthcare, human resources and general back office applications to
help run the organization).
- Experience in implementing/managing electronic medical
records.
- Experience with or knowledge of Netsmart myUnity is a plus
(Electronic Medical Record).
- Knowledge of healthcare, not-for-profit organizations.
- Good technical skills and knowledge, including demonstrated
knowledge and experience with information technology and
communications systems and applications.
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation
skills, including the ability to communicate technical information
to diverse non-technical audiences.
- Data management and analytics experience in providing dashboard
reporting for business decision.
- Solid record of information services leadership with focus on
