level, proactive support and assistance for the Project Development
office. This position acts as liaison between the VP of Project
Development, the external field-based project manager / owner
representatives, campus leadership, the finance department and
other stakeholders as necessary. This position also will be
responsible for high level overview of constructions projects.The
Project Development Manager is responsible for providing high level
project development support to the Project Development office by
managing a variety of project development related activities and
functions including, but not limited to:Weekly Project Meetings &
Reporting
- Organize and attend all weekly project meetings through
development and construction along with the VP of Project
Development
- Prepare weekly project team meeting agendas, meeting minutes
and open issues logs.
- Track and maintain project follow-up activities to ensure
timely completion of projects.
- Communicate and coordinate with campus leadership, as
necessary, to gather needed information and reports, compiling data
as necessary.
- Complete weekly project updates of schedule and open issues
status on a 'dashboard' report.Schedule
- Assist VP of Project Development in the development and
coordination of long-term project schedules, Gantt charts and
critical path timelines.Project Budgets & Payment Management.
- Work with the VP of Project Development and the finance
department to create and update capital cost budgets for each
project along with detailed project assumptions
- Review, approve and code project vendor invoices and process
bi-monthly project development payables and construction payables
including entering payables into the Covenant system for approval
and processing. Follow up on outstanding invoices as
necessary.
- Work with Covenant finance to produce a monthly cost tracking
report of costs-to-date and updated project spend to completion for
each projectExecutive Leadership Team Reviews & Approvals
- Working with the VP of Project Development, make periodic
update presentation to the Executive Leadership Team on project
status.
- At key milestones, prepare all necessary documents and the
approval packet for the Executive Leadership Team to approve
projects to proceedOutside Project Management & Construction
Consultants
- If outside Project Management and/or Construction Owner's
Representatives are engaged on a particular project, work with the
VP of Project Development to delegate specific tasks to and review
the work of these consultants.Resource Management
- File all development documents in a shared electronic filing
systemIndustry Presentations
- Coordinate and possibly participate in external speaking
engagements for VP Project Development, including drafting remarks
and developing PowerPoint slides and videos. Distribute information
and materials as required.Post-Occupancy Review
- Facilitate the implementation of resident focus groups and
post-occupancy survey's and provide a report out of results to the
Vice President of Project Development.General
- Generally structure, organize and expedite the actions and
workload of the Project Development office.
- Prepare and/or review for accuracy all departmental reports,
presentations, documents, and related records.
- Handles confidential and/or sensitive information with high
level of discretion.
- Use multiple technical applications including word processing,
database management, spreadsheets, graphics and presentation
software, electronic calendar, email, and other technical
applications.
- Participate in special work groups and projects as
directed.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
Bachelor's degree required, preferable in Architecture,
engineering, construction management or development.Experience:
This position prefers but does not require a minimum three years of
coordinator or manager work experience providing support for
significant projects and at the senior executive level in a
fast-paced organization. Skills:
- Ability to manage detail, anticipate needs and maintain high
standards of excellence.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the gravitas and
sophistication to interact with executives at all levels,
internally and externally.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, ability to manage and prioritize

completion of projects.

- Willingness to learn and ability to work as part of a team and
support multiple staff as necessary.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills and
exceptional computer skills; 2010 Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint) is essential.
- The position requires an understanding of and desire to serve
older adults.
- Familiarity with continuing care retirement communities or
other senior living communities' systems is a plus.PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTSThe majority of time in the central office is spent in
an office setting; mobility is necessary to occasionally travel to
campuses and to move about the campus and facilities. This position
requires occasional handling of lightweight materials and the
physical ability to use various types of equipment.Up to 40% travel
