What we are looking for: The Assistant Store Manager will assist the Store Manager in providing leadership to the store through efficient daily operations. The Assistant Store Manager must demonstrate strong sales knowledge and training ability to assist the store in achieving sales goals. The Assistant Store Manager will progress through company training programs in preparation to become Store Manager. - We are looking for someone who: --- Manages daily operations of a retail store, in an assistant role. --- Achieve personal monthly/annual sales goal. --- Provide first response to difficult associate and/or customer interactions in the Store Manager's absence. --- Plan and develop work schedules and assign employees to specific duties. --- Collaborate with Store Manager to set monthly and annual store goals. --- Prepare or direct workers preparing merchandise displays and advertising copy. --- Perform sales work, take inventories, reconcile cash with sales receipts, keep operating records, and/or prepare daily record of transactions. --- Maintain a gross margin in accordance with company directive. --- Maintain inventory shrink of $5,000 or less. --- Develops and maintains relationships with customers. --- Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), e-mail, and Internet. --- Retail Point of Sale (POS) system experience a plus!
