LifeScan Labs of Illinois is located in Skokie, IL has been a
leader in providing reliable laboratory services for Northern
Illinois for over 20 years. We are a laboratory specializing in
medical diagnostic testing for physicians and long-term care
facilities. We offer paid time off and paid holidays, along with

Labs of Illinois, LLC is looking for an Operations Supervisor that
will serve an integral role in our Operations department. This role
will focus on leading our employees to achieve their goals by
focusing on continuous improvement, and supporting strong
collaboration and inclusiveness in our teams.
Responsibilities:
The Laboratory Operations Director will report to the Chief
Operating Officer.
This position will work closely with the Laboratory Medical
Director, Field Operations Director, VP of Sales, VP of Strategy,
and HR Director. This position will have responsibility to the
direct reports of Quality Manager, Main Lab Supervisor,
Microbiology Supervisor, Molecular Supervisor, Head of Molecular
Assay Development, and Processing Supervisor.
Responsible for the direction and execution to assure all standards
of CLIA, IDPH and all other regulatory agencies that apply are
met.
Establish quality metrics and parameters for acceptable performance
for the pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical testing
processes.
This position will be responsible for meeting strategic goals and
have fiscal responsibility over the laboratory.
Develop and assist department leaders in cross training staff and
ensure competency programs are executed appropriately.
Resolve all technical problems with the aid of the technical staff
and ensures that proactive and remedial action is taken whenever
performance standards are not met.
Ensure that all patient results are reported accurately and
effectively, working through issues as needed. Problem-solve and
troubleshoot to resolve situational workflow and turnaround time
challenges.
Identify training needs and ensure all training is performed as
required.
Provide leadership with respect to all aspects of the laboratory;
evaluate and interview candidates, coach and develop technical
staff to achieve professional, personal, and business goals.
Provide updates to both the Executive Leadership and Medical
Director on all matters of importance along with quality and
performance metrics.
Assure that both Medical Director and Chief Operating Officer are
aware of all issues that could have a negative impact on the
laboratory, its operation or that of Insight.
Be familiar with all compliance standards published by CLIA, IDPH,
OSHA, and any other regulatory agency such that the laboratory is
in full compliance with the law.
Assist the Quality, Compliance and Medical Director with regulatory
inspections.
Ensure that all Quality Assurance/Quality Control and proficiency
standards are met by staff and Lab.
Reads, understands, modify, and edit under the direction of the
medical director, appropriate Standard Operating Procedures
(SOP's), including safety and quality procedures.
Evaluate and be familiar with new technology and instrumentation.
Develop RFP requests for new instrumentation, and evaluate ROI for
capital purchases.
Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
Successful candidates will have:
Bachelor's or master's degree in in a chemical, physical or
biological science or medical technology from an accredited
institution;
5+ years of management experience in a clinical laboratory
environment.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency with MS Office Suite.
Ability to demonstrate self-confidence and appropriate
accountability and assertiveness while acting as a team player and
showing appreciation for and respecting the collective role of a
team.
Strong interpersonal skills the highest standards of
professionalism, including reliable presence, tact, discretion and
a customer service-oriented approach.
Ability to direct and work with cross-functional teams including
establishing strong relationships with a wide range of key
stakeholders and staff.
Ability to think strategically and implement tactical
initiatives.
Strong judgement and the ability to problem solve, re-prioritize
and pivot as needed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proven time management, organizational, and project management
skills.
Strong verbal and written communication, persuasion, and listening
skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and
discretion.
