DirectHire Location: Elk Grove Village, IL Shift: Monday to Friday, 1st Shift Job Type: Full-Time Pay Rate: $60,000 – $74,000 annually Start Date: ASAP Job Summary Design and build tooling primarily for short-run and prototype work in a high-mix, low-volume precision manufacturing environment. This role supports tooling for small presses and precision components, requiring strong milling and grinding experience, troubleshooting ability, and independent problem-solving. Key Responsibilities • Design, build, and troubleshoot tooling for precision components and small press applications • Set up and operate manual milling, grinding, and machining equipment • Support tooling for kick presses, small hydraulic presses, and forming operations • Interpret blueprints and engineering drawings (including GD&T) • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments • Collaborate with engineers and shop personnel to improve tooling and processes • Work independently to complete complex setups and tooling builds Machinery / Equipment Used • Manual Vertical Mills (Bridgeport, ProtoTRAK) • Surface Grinders (Okamoto, Harig) • Manual Lathes • CNC Mills (3–4 axis VMC – Fanuc, Haas, Makino) Required Qualifications • Experience in tool and die, tooling, or precision machining with exposure to tooling or die work • Hands-on experience with milling and grinding equipment • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings (GD&T) • Experience with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.) • Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting ability, and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Client Hire-On Benefits • Medical insurance (75% employer paid) • Short-term, long-term disability, and life insurance (100% employer paid) • 401(k) with employer match • 2–3 weeks PTO • 8 sick days (available after 6 months) Pre-Employment Process • Drug Testing • Background Check • Employment Verification & References • E-Verify • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (ITAR environment) Additional Details • Equal Opportunity Employer • Reasonable accommodations are available • No fees to applicants • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
