We are a laboratory specializing in medical diagnostic testing for physicians and long-term care facilities. Lifescan Labs of Illinois is looking for a Cash Application Specialist that will serve an integral role in our Billing department. -

Responsibilities:

Monitor and download payment files and ensure all posting batches are balanced daily.
Contact payers to transition payers to electronic processing.
Research, resolve and report any clearinghouse or bank related issues, contacting payers for missing EOBs/ERAs.
Resolve payment discrepancies with insurance claims for clients/residents and employees.
Maintain positive internal and external relationships, encouraging open lines of communication to resolve all administrative and financial issues.
Provide feedback to management regarding any issues or repetitive errors that may be encountered during claim review and submissions.
Provide financial reports as needed.
Other duties assigned by Management.

Requirements

High School diploma required. Some college or Associates degree preferred
Ability to complete mathematical calculations in order to prepare required reports
Extremely detail oriented with a high level of problem-solving skills
Minimum of 2 years of posting payments, analyzing accounts and managing denials of claims
Minimum 2 years required experience in a healthcare office setting; preferably laboratory setting
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills ensuring exceptional communication between team members, patients and payers
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Working knowledge of computer programs including but not limited to MS Office, MS Excel, Practice Management and Clearinghouses
Maintains confidentiality in all matters that include Patient Health Information and employee data
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage daily work under tight deadlines

Schedule

Monday through Friday 9:00am-5:30pm. -Overtime when necessary to meet the department needs
Business casual attire Monday through Thursday
