are currently looking for a Field Advisor for our Chemical Engineer
I position within UOP.-------This is an exciting and unique
opportunity to work in the U.S. and around the world as part of a
Field Operating Service (FOS) team, supported by technology experts
from UOP's Operating Technical Service.--FOS advisors are on-site
prior, during and after the initial start-up of UOP technologies.
They help to ensure that the plant and operators are ready for
commissioning. Advisors are also involved in the start-up and test
runs that demonstrate guarantees and are accountable for process,
equipment, refining and petrochemical insight and assist customers
in resolving engineering and operating issues.-------UOP advisors
may remain at a site for a few days to several months before moving
to the next assignment. For each start-up, advisors work with
several UOP-licensed processes and with a variety of individuals
within and outside of UOP. The experience gained from each
assignment, and the subsequent interaction with other UOP
employees, provide a solid background for assessing and solving
problems encountered in each situation in various locations around
the world.-------As advisors gain experience, they have
opportunities to advance to positions of increased accountability
within the FOS organization.---Once the experience has been gained
in FOS, engineers may choose to pursue positions in UOP's Technical
Service, Engineering, Equipment, Development, Manufacturing or

Education AssistanceKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:--- Provide technical
field assistance during the checkout and start-up of new or
revamped refinery units.--- Offer field technical support for
development activities in commercial refinery units.--- Ensure
adherence to safety procedures.--- Provide feedback, including
suggested improvements, on UOP process designs.--- Troubleshoot
issues and recommend solutions, focusing on innovation and
improvement.--- Familiarize with controls communications
networks.--- Coordinate commissioning activities.--- Transfer
technology to customers' operating and engineering staff.--- Review
emergency and normal operating procedures with customer shift
operating personnel.--- Advise customer operating personnel on
establishing and maintaining process variables for safe and
efficient operations.--- Collect and analyze unit operating data
and laboratory results.--- Monitor and advise on process operating
conditions during test runs.--- Establish effective relationships
with customer counterparts.--- Conduct unit audits to support
refinery-wide expansion projects and new multi-unit complex
startups.--- Provide guidance to customer personnel for routine
long-term operations of UOP process units.--- Travel up to 100%
full-time for project duration.YOU MUST HAVE:-----Bachelor's degree
from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as
the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics---3+ years of
experience in the Petrochemical, Gas processing or Refining
industry--WE VALUE:-----Bachelor's degree in chemical
engineering-----The ability to commit to 100% full-time travel for
the duration of a project-----Experience with at least one of the
following UOP technologies (Catalytic Reforming, Gas Processing,
Hydrocracking, Hydrotreating, FCC, Merox Treating, HF Alkylation,
Paraffin Isomerization, Adsorptive Separations (Parex and Molex),
Xylene Isomerization and other Aromatics processing, (Cumene and
Ethyl Benzene) is preferred-----Willingness to travel
internationally and domestically and reside onsite for long
uninterrupted periods of time (typical assignments are four to six
months - Some assignments can last for one day and other
assignments one year)-----Flexibility to work hours that are
dictated by customer requirements and assignment
scope--------Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially
Excel and Word-----Excellent interpersonal, communication, and
organizational skills-----Strong customer focus, and the ability to
work as part of a team-----Proficiency in written and verbal
English-----Ability to work in a physically challenging
environment-----Ability to interact with customers on a global
